The Second Annual Jonathan B. Loden Memorial Golf Tournament- September 28, 2007
The second tournament, held September 28, 2007 at Turf Valley Country Club in Ellicott City, was a success! The weather was a bit iffy in the early morning, but after a small amount of rain, the skies cleared, and it was a perfect golf day! Our goal was to exceed the donation of last year and we were able to achieve that.
The winning team was Bank of America's John Walker, of the Private Wealth Management Group. Other players in the foursome included Mark Leach, Frank Harper and Matt Laun
Second place was taken by the Peter Maller team, and included Michael Meyer, Rami Futerman and Shaun Diamond.
To make it fun, we included prizes for 10th place…..that team was Rick, Jason and Damien Loden and Mullen Walton. Jason also won the prize for traveling the most miles to play..he flew in from Hong Kong to honor his cousin Jon’s memory.
We had two par 3, closest to the pin…Bill Waterfield won hole 3 and John Coleman, Jr. took the prize on hole 8.
The longest drive was won by Steve Johnson, and the straightest drive by Justin Preston.
After the awards, Dina Klicos, the Director of Major Gifts at Johns Hopkins Hospital, spoke on the importance of our efforts to help fund ongoing head and neck cancer research.
Most of the golfers pledged to be back next year! Our goal is to make the tournament and our donation bigger and better every year….thank you to everyone for their support. Our donation will be $8500.00 this year, $2500.00 more than last year!
2007 Sponsors This year could not have been possible without the golf hole sponsors. The Loden family would like to thank Jim and Sandy Cornelius,Gary and Iris Ingber, Larry and Pam Tucker , HMS Host Corporation, Open Road Technologies and Bandag.
